JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Campus Recreation is seeking Penn State students to work as Building Supervisors within Facilities and Operations unit. A Student Building Supervisor assists with the supervision, training and evaluation of Facility Attendants. Under direction of the Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations and Coordinator for Facilities and Operations. Student Building Supervisors are considered an extension of facility management. In addition to performing the tasks of a Facility Attendant, the Student Building Supervisor helps ensure policies and procedures for Campus Recreation buildings are enforced in a fair and consistent manner particularly on nights and weekends. Student Building Supervisors must attend staff meetings, and maintain professionalism at all times, either while assisting members, working with staff across program areas or attending to other work tasks. * Student Building Supervisors provide backup to facility access staff when necessary. Individuals will also provide coverage when needed for special events that go beyond normal operation hours. * Student Building Supervisors must be Penn State students and possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal skills. * Must be willing to cover or trade shifts when necessary. * Ability to recognize and identify unruly patrons or unsafe behaviors. * Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary. * CPR/First Aid/AED certification required. * Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds with or without accommodation.
