Essential Functions:
Manage the marketing of basic accounts by preparing submissions, approaching carriers for quotes, and negotiating coverage; requiring little to no support from senior members of the team for the majority of accounts. Meet and exceed client expectations throughout the submission process by managing client coverage goals, priorities, and overall expectations with minimal input from the Broker and other senior members of the team.
Solicit timely and substantive responses to submissions and effectively negotiate pricing and terms with underwriters, providing frequent and transparent updates to the client.
Gather and develop complete loss summaries and analysis, as needed.
Prepare high-quality, error-free submissions, and effectively present this information to underwriters both verbally and in written form.
Identify and correct inconsistencies or errors in relevant documents and promptly correct/clarify the same with the client and/or underwriter.
Ultimately responsible for the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of quotes, binders, checklists, and other marketing file documentation for accounts they handle or oversee.
Meet quality measurement goals and procedures by following internal Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
Ensure all transactions comply with regulatory requirements and company policies, maintaining accurate records.
Facilitate clear communication of coverage terms and all other information between clients and underwriters, ensuring the delivered policy aligns with client expectations.
Maintain and enhance relationships with carriers, including some in-person contact, typically accompanied by your broker or senior team members.
Other Responsibilities:
Provide training and ongoing guidance to Production Assistants and/or Production Associates, supporting their professional growth and development.
Work closely with Broker in identifying projects where skills, experience, and knowledge can be utilized effectively.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:
Minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant insurance experience.
Property & Casualty and Surplus Lines Licenses (as required by state).

Job Overview

The Associate Broker is responsible for placement of new business submissions and/or remarketing renewal accounts with relevant, competitive insurance carriers and binding the insurance coverage on behalf of Amwins' retail agencies. The Associate Broker leverages their understanding of the carrier landscape and respective underwriting appetites to determine available markets to help build a profitable book of business.

We are looking for people with:
* 1 year experience as support staff in an office environment or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university
* Prior insurance experience is a plus!
* Property and Casualty License or ability to earn a license within 90 days (cost reimbursed and study support provided by Amwins)
* Excellent interpersonal communication, customer service mentality, and organizational skills
* Outgoing personality who are quick to learn!
* Excellent computer skills including typing proficiency, Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheet
Each Associate Broker provides vital team functions:
* Market new business submissions and remarket renewal accounts with a customer-oriented focus
* Build relationships with agencies and analyze accounts to prioritize and develop action plans
* Utilize independent judgment and market knowledge to identify and evaluate risk on a case by case and book of business basis
* Liaise with carrier personnel and retail agents daily to assist with placement, retention, and resolution of risks
